Each card can also store an extra piece of information e.g. names of kids, information on when to send the card, type of card this person likes, and so on.
Also used for Thanksgiving & Easter card lists, plus a General type which can be renamed as needed e.g. birthday cards, New Year cards, Party/Wedding invitations etc. The app can be also just for general mailing lists.
Lists can be copied from iPhone to iPad etc. using a dropbox backup and restore.
Managing a list is simple. Tap the icon to the left of a name to indicate the card has been written. Optionally tap again to indicate that the card has been mailed. Tap the icon to the right to indicate that you have received a card from that person.
Swipe a name from right to left to get option to mark it as an eCard.
Tap on a person to display their address and a history of cards sent and received from that person. Should you still send if you haven’t received a card from them for a few years!
Displays the total number of cards in a list - see at a glance how many stamps are required.
You have the convenience of using the names and addresses from the device Contacts, but if you prefer, names and addresses can be entered locally to the myCardLists app.
If a name is from your Contacts, you can store an “alias” for that card. For example, you might have “Mr John Smith” in Contacts, but want the card list to show “John and Mary” or “The Smiths” etc.
It is also very simple to import names from a previous card list. For example, when you create a list for your Xmas 2014 cards, you would probably want to import the names from the 2013 list, and so on.
When a list is completed, addressing the envelopes is made so much simpler by printing to address labels. Several Letter and A4 sheet types are supported. To print, you just set up the label type required, and then print to an AirPrint enabled printer. Alternatively, the address details can be emailed as a pdf file and then printed from another computer. Change the way the names and addresses appear on the labels by choosing the desired font.
